In October last year our world totally flipped upside down when my wonderful Wife Kirsty was diagnosed with a brain tumour. This came completely out of nowhere and changed everything literally over night. It was the saddest, most devastatingly traumatic period of our lives. To be given such unexpected news just didn’t feel real, everything just became a blur. Thankfully Vas was always just a message away to answer any questions that we had, which gave us some much needed comfort knowing he was there.
Just 4 weeks after being diagnosed Kirsty had to endure an Awake Craniotomy Surgery. Again, thankfully, she was operated on by two of the best Neurosurgeons in the country, in Mr Vas Apostolopoulos and Professor Puneet Plaha, at the Wellington Hospital, London. They managed to remove her tumour completely.
The bravery, strength, courage and resilience my beautiful Wife showed throughout was simply incredible!
We shall forever be grateful to the handful of close friends and family members who knew and will never forget what they did for us when we needed them the most. It truly helped a great deal, and it so important to seek support and talk about what you are going through. We both found it very comforting having people to talk to and knowing they were there for us.
